Outdoor mood

Stylish summer furniture is sometimes hard to find. Especially when you have a picture in mind of how you want them to look like or if you have to adapt to a given area. In a country like Australia, you are not so dependent on the weather, in the sense that you can be outside all year round. You often see indoor furniture on porches. Sofas, armchairs & tables. I thought it looked a little tricky in the beginning, coming from a winter-land. But it’s very charming. Although, I’m continuing to stick to furniture for outdoor use. However, this is not about outdoor furniture, but about being outdoors. You’re supposed to use what the occasion offers to enjoy the pleasant weather. Our winter here in Australia have been fantastic. One of the warmest winters in 40 years, I believe. The winter here is almost like our summer in Sweden. So, with this beautiful winter weather, I find my self in outdoor mood.

Daily inspiration, lighthouse

It would be exciting to know what the story is behind this lighthouse. The aging, wear, wind & weather only makes the house more beautiful, more charming, more interesting. Just as with people who have lived, worked & loved, those who lived their lives to the fullest or who just wanted to have a simple & uncomplicated lifestyle. It’s amazing when you can see traces of life in the buildings as well as in humans. It is for me, what life is all about. Long live the natural aging process, in everything.

Daily inspiration, facade

Facades are amongst one of the best things I know. It’s a special feeling in my stomach when I see fine facades, whether they are contemporary, traditional, worn or whatever, really. I have spent loads of time, wandering around in different cities or streets to experience architecture regarding facades along streets & squares. It can be charming old houses, old schools, newly manufactured wooden houses, factories stately or just square ones, without decoration. Facades says a lot about us humans, through different epochs. It’s nice to play with the idea of how people living inside are & what they do. But let’s leave that thought for another time.

Waste wood or …

They are there, visible, but still, they don’t take up too much space. They’re quite common & widely used in various environments. If you are interested of home furnishing & like to keep up with parts of the development, then you can’t have missed them. What is this all about? What is it I’ve seen so much of in recent times? It’s nothing special really, just these pieces of wood furnitures that looks like driftwood or wood residues.

They can be used in the livingroom or bedroom. On the patio or infront of the fire place. They function everywhere. I’ve seen them in different shapes, either natural, redesigned or painted. I must say that I prefer them in white or black, of course. They could look really great depending on where they are used. It depends on the color & the room / space in which they end up in. But, isn’t that’s the fact with most things. Things in the right place will always come to their advantage, in one way or another.

Daily inspiration, by the pool

Not that I think it works with a sofa, especially with white cover, by the poolside. But it sure looks both nice & relaxing. It’s very beautiful with coral-blue water, the white wide sofa & orange coloured cushions. With a broad sun hat & an iPad close at hand, it would probably feel as if it’s close enough, the best thing you ever can buy for money, with the risk of sounding superficial. Who said you can’t buy happiness 🙂
