It has been a tough period with a lot of work for a while now. I would like to get away from everything & everyone, for own time without any obligation to anyone. To just relax & not think any thoughts (if possible). That’s not much to ask for, is it?

Wood logs, fireplaces & to gather around the fire with candles & blankets, that’s perfect at this time of year. Now, it’s not winter on my side of the globe, but I still associate Christmas with snow, winter & cold weather. It’s quite incredible how tradition & upbringing has such an impact. No matter how I try, I just can’t get in to the Christmas spirit. It won’t work in this heat.
Now I was actually more interested of stored wood than open fireplaces. I like when natural materials have a natural place in the home. It’s a bit of a luxury feel, getting to lit a fire & gather at home, with near & dear ones. Don’t you think?

I’m a huge lover of stools & small tables. We’ve probably had an abundance of them at home over time, I’ll admit. I find them so irresistible but also very flexible. I always used to buy when I happened to find one that I liked, bring it home, keep it unpacked, until I could find the right place somewhere. And over time, I had to stop doing that, which is understandable. So now I try to limit myself to see but not touch … thus emphasising try.

Christmas is one of the seasons where you can exaggerate without it becoming too much. I don’t know why, it’s just the way it is. You might not agree with me since it has to do with taste & preference, but ok, that’s my general opinion. As this image for example. Wall paper, bedding, carpet – various sizes of plaid as well as plenty of patterns, mixed in an abundance – it is over the top but it works anyway. Just because it is Christmas!
