Candlesticks

So, we have finally taken down our Christmas boxes from the attic, even if it’s in the last minute. I can’t say I have the same desire or interest to decorate as in the past. It’s not the same feeling without winter & frost (it’s currently 35 degrees outside). Old habits die hard. But some candle sticks will be used after all, once when darkness falls.

A Christmas home

Cabinets

We have removed some cabinets , there’s no need to keep so much stuff but also because they took up too much space. It doesn’t feel particularly necessary to constantly save things – that still will take up space somewhere anyway. But that’s easier said than done – it’s about furniture that’s been with us for a while, or a long time. You get a special relationship to them. Furniture is not just things, they have an emotional value, as well as dressing the home in a comfortable attire that welcomes every time you walk through the door.
