Christmas is one of the seasons where you can exaggerate without it becoming too much. I don’t know why, it’s just the way it is. You might not agree with me since it has to do with taste & preference, but ok, that’s my general opinion. As this image for example. Wall paper, bedding, carpet – various sizes of plaid as well as plenty of patterns, mixed in an abundance – it is over the top but it works anyway. Just because it is Christmas!

Let’s enjoy something simple. A wreath with no frills, no decorations – beautiful as it is. A picture of simplicity at its best.

How about a Scandinavian winter / Christmas? Nice combination with sheepskin on chairs (my favourite chairs too) oriental rug, green garland on the table, lots of white candles and a pleasant atmosphere.

This picture reminds me of when my boys were little. They had lots of wooden toys & especially a locomotive with carriages that could be linked together to form long trains. They were a little bigger, sturdier & were in colourless varnished wood. Anyway, you had to be rather creative to get them to eat, at times. This would have worked fine. To pretend a train comes loaded & we’ll have to eat in order to be able to tow more.

With a transparent glass bowl, green fresh moss & a tea light – there you are, abracadabra, an excellent Christmas decoration, worthy a table worth the name.
