Something worn

It’s nice when you mix old with new or combines a worn thing together with shiny new. It becomes personalised & not overwhelmingly ambitious – that’s sometimes rather liberating. Environments in different shades of white furnished with worn furniture where the wood shows through can never go out of style. The style is loved by many & is found in many countries, more or less consistent.

I like when the decor isn’t straight through furnished in worn white. It becomes a bit too much for my taste. However, it’s very appealing, with small groups of furniture or still life that creates exciting & unexpected solutions.

Daily inspiration, fresh cut flowers

We have received a lot of fresh cut flowers from friends who’s been visiting when we have been off. I think it’s a bit of a luxury with fresh flowers. To have time to enjoy them too. I have moved them around, forward & back, inside & out, depending on where we have been sitting. It’s nice with a mix of coloured & clear glass vases with one flower inside, here & there. They complement each other, as a unit.

Today’s daily inspiration should maybe have been empty inspiration. It is about empty frames – but although empty, it is still ok. Put together some frames in various size & colours – as in a still life, in a suitable place & take a step back to take a look. It works!

A balanced & simple styling with the white chest of drawers, the carpet with graphic pattern & still life in groups. The round mirror makes the whole set less formal with its roundness. Very fresh!

Daily inspiration, still life

I am a lover of small simple arrangements. They’re easy to replace & modify according to taste, as well as each season. It’s important to not overdo it. Also to not get so excited so it’s & all over the place in the house. It makes the home personal if it’s done right. Still life tells a story about who’s living there & about their interests. I think that it helps to create order & structure so that the gaze flows more smooth throughout \ the room. If nothing else, you’re creating beautiful & aesthetic pieces of art to enjoy, for everyday use.
