Small space

You can do wonders with small areas. Think through what you want to achieve, before you start. What functions are needed, what furnitures, what style & what to keep or give away. Smart storage solutions that’s both functional but also nice to the eye. Save space – clothes, bedding & seasonal stuff can be stowed away until it is time to use these again. Sparingly or lots of stuff, if done with care & thoughtfulness, it will make a big difference. You can create an easy-going feel with few well chosen stuff. Or a cozy & homey atmosphere by allowing your storage solution be visible. There are endless choices of ideas so anything is possible, for living in a small space.

I can imagine that children would feel comfortable in this room. Floor space for games, sloping roof creating nooks, roof window with natural light, built-in bed in the corner with a small private room within a room & soft soothing colours. Nice that the ceiling is in untreated wood. The room has high cosiness factor. Nice place overall for children to live in. (I might have wished for more comfortable seating, large thick rugs & some cushions on the floor).

Light grey shades

We are just in the phase to renovate our shed in the garden. It’s around 15-17 square meter & has been used for various storage needs. It’s a perfect little house to furnish as a guest house. And so it will be used too – with relatives that will arrive within four weeks & stay for four weeks. It’s just outside the veranda, in the corner of the garden with all the lovely trees & bushes around. It’s been made in country style which fits well with the rest of the house. We will retain the outside in same style so most of the work will be to get the interior nice, comfortable & functional. All walls white, I guess we will choose white floor also. White tiles for the shower area & for the sink too.

It will not be much color except textiles, rugs & accessories. The usual, so to speak. Colour is always nice in many ways but ” colourless” works well too. To visualize that, I chose to do a post with images in grey – shades of light grey.
