Hej dear friends,
I had in mind to blog about autumn after my nice breakfast in the sun with all the beautiful colours around me…it almost looks like the trees are burning…with the diversity of brown-red, yellow & the burned tones, especially when rays of the sun gleams through. But when I finished it became more rosy than I had imagined, for some reason. Never mind, it works anyway. It might sound odd to you but I’m not particularly fond of flowers or plants for that matter. I appreciate the beauty but have no interest in engaging in it. At most, it’s enough to arrange fresh flowers in a vase. We don’t even have pot plants at home, believe it or not. However, the garden is flowing over by plants, seedlings, shrubs & trees, thanks to our landlord which we rent the house of. There’s even a small vegetable garden. Nice indeed:)
Flowers are not the biggest part of my field of interest, as I said, but enjoyable when it’s picked together in an appealing manner, whether it be in interiors or as bouquets, by all means. I made a bargain, a while back on the flea market, a floral one. A padded quilt that was striped on one side & with small-patterned roses on the other side. Really nice! But when it’s in use, it’s the striped side that’s visible… with the roses on the back which can only be sensed.

Hej dear friends,
The most recent entries have been pretty colorless, so I’m going with a green theme today. Especially when the summer is around the corner back home in Sweden. It suits as well over here in Australia despite the autumn, the weather is just so nice, most of the time. So this morning we headed out to a nice restaurant where we met up with a group of friends for early breakfast, – as always, a pleasure to spend time with people I love. It struck me that we now have lived in Sydney nearly five years & that we’ve known those particular friends as long. A rather cool feeling considering that they have been with us from the start, in our new homeland.Very nice feeling, actually. What would life be without friends, huh? One of life’s greatest pleasures, for sure.
Back to the theme, green is not a primary colour, it’s created of a mixture of blue & yellow. It’s considered as one of the additions to primary colours. The complement of green is magenta, at least according to RGB colour wheel. That’s a purple colour corresponding to an equal mix of red & blue light. On the other hand, based on traditional colour theory, the complementary colour to green is considered to be red. The word green is closely related to the old english verb growan which means to grow. It’s used to describe plants or the ocean. It can also describe someone who is inexperienced, jealous or sick.
In USA, green is a slang word for money, among other things. Several everyday expressions have been developed from these meanings, such as “green around the gills”, a phrase used to describe a person who looks ill. In some cultures, this colour symbolizes hope & growth, while in others, it’s associated with death, sickness, envy & even the devil. Green is also associated with regeneration, fertility & rebirth for its connections to nature. Recent political groups in Europe & the West have taken on the color as a symbol of environmental protection & social justice…& consider themselves part of the Green movement. This has led to similar campaigns in advertising, as companies have sold green or environmentally friendly products. (look up the word green in Wikipidea, where you can read more about colours).

Hej there,
Golden splashes might work but gold in general is not really my taste. It’s surely beautiful, because it does attract loads of individuals. Gold is perceived as exclusive & communicates what you stand for or who you are…generally speaking. But I am not going to blog about gold in that sense, I am far too uninterested & ignorant. To ensure delivery of an entry in the theme of gold, I have to go after my interest, which is nearly nonexistent – which in turn means that I have to keep it simple. And keeping it simple in my case, means usually images of the ordinary – what is considered more standard & general. Well, I would probably not say that the first image is standard since it’s a hallway in gold but the others are.
When I think about it, it might not be so many who would agree on the third picture, either. It’s not often you walk around in a golden skirt. Hm, but on the other hand, the fifth image would also not work. It’s yet not very common with golden showers. Then, I suppose the picture there after wouldn’t count as ordinary since it’s a table in gold, at least a part of it. No wait, you know what, let’s not bother whether it’s normal & daily occurring stuff or not. You get to decide what you like, it is easiest that way. Here’s some golden splashes…
