Sweet things for the eye in our everyday, isn’t that wonderful, really – for the well being, at least. I think it makes us humans more friendly & more compassionate when we have nice & beautiful things around us. It might sound silly but it’s about the beauty in things & in people. Not perfection but valuable things that has certain memories connected to them. Or people that has certain behaviours, smiles, insight or other, that makes them irreplaceable. It is about the feeling things or individuals create within us. One cannot go on collecting people, but you can surround yourself with them as well as other things you happen to like too.

Flooring
We’ve usually had wood floors in our homes over the years. Always in light wood too. The last house we lived in, we painted the floors white. Gloss lacquered white floors throughout the upper level. Really nice but oh so hard to keep clean, especially with a black labrador. Black lacquered floors are also extremely appealing. But I must say that I probably prefer hardwood flooring if there is to be painted surfaces. It’s important that the wood slats are visible through, to avoid a flat & bland expression. Painted & lacquered concrete is not to bad either for that matter. The limit for me, is probably black or white. Although I think it is neat with green, yellow or red floor, I find it hard to see that I could cope with the colors in the long run. It would be exciting to know what the story is behind this lighthouse. The aging, wear, wind & weather only makes the house more beautiful, more charming, more interesting. Just as with people who have lived, worked & loved, those who lived their lives to the fullest or who just wanted to have a simple & uncomplicated lifestyle. It’s amazing when you can see traces of life in the buildings as well as in humans. It is for me, what life is all about. Long live the natural aging process, in everything.

Daily inspiration, piece of art
This is design that makes you happy. It becomes more of an installation or piece of art. At the same time as it’s functional, of course. It doesn’t have to be so complicated at times. Seems to me that you can change the way it looks depending on who’s using it & what you put on the shelfs. I like that it’s pleasant & smooth on the eye also, almost an ergonomic appearance.
