Dress up the floor

I often find that a room, how excellent it may seem, has something that is missing, without a rug or rugs. It just feels unfinished. Partly it is the warmth it provides to the room, as well as texture, but colour, shape and the function. It is for me an important interior detail.

Runners

What would a home be without rugs or runners in any form. Whether they are in plastic, modern, oriental, country or made by rags in the traditional way. Rugs generally enhances the comfort in a home. Not just by keeping the cold away from the floor or dampen the noise but because it creates more life into the home environment. More colour, texture, warmth & joy. Orange

Orange has great warmth when it’s in the right shade. It’s cool together with red, pink & cerise colours. The contrast can be exciting. Orange usually makes me think of carrots, pumpkins & apricots. It is between red & yellow & generally associated with extroverts, fire, activity, danger & the autumn season. It is an important symbolic colour of Buddhism & Hinduism. But today, it’s an orange theme basically because of Halloween.

Carpets

I am a great lover of carpets. Carpets have an important function in the home. Not only as a floor heater, but also to soften the impression, to bring in colour, pattern & home feeling. Rugs helps to reduce the noise level too. A room does not feel entirely finished or inhabited, until the carpet comes into place. Moreover, it keeps the room together – you get a base to start from. Ideal for children to play on or pets to lie on. Depending on the carpet’s appearance, it can become a decorative piece in the home. Equally useful on the wall such as the sofa. Or outside on the terrace. Coordinate or choose colours or pattern. Rugs, a must for the home.

Outdoor Image

Daily inspiration, camping

I can’t say I am fond of camping. I would not be able to keep track of spiders & insects, which would keep me up all night, unfortunately. But still, this looks very nice out. A small but open area with fresh air & everything you could possibly need – a bedroom with a bed, candle lamps, rugs, some chairs & an open fire. Even a small window at the back.
