Take a seat

Chairs, chairs in quantities – something Which I cannot get enough of, however, I am limited by space. It’s probably for the best, I think – in the long run. Chairs are exciting & there is something special about this piece of furniture. The design has no limitation & comfort is an important part, with regard to use – likewise, material choice. Colour, form, shape, size, function – for work, rest & socialising. Or just to use for clothing, books or other loose.

Imagine how good it is with different chairs around the dining table for example. It creates a nice feeling & looks less formal.Or just add an unexpected colour, it is stylish with an odd chair or colour that stands out. Take a seat & let us hope you will find something you like.

Better in black

I’m switching between different colour phases right now. It changes admittedly but I stick to the darker colour scheme. Brown, black, grey, dark blue … well, you might not think that these are what you would call colours. No matter what, black is beautiful, always, to anything & everything. Black on black, black & white or black & plaid or striped. Here is a mix of images that might inspire.

Wallpaper

I think I would have a hard time choosing wallpaper, no matter which room in the house it would be. It’s nice & gives a dressed feel to the home. I recently found a white wallpaper with texture that feels like velvet on the surface. Very beautiful & gave a sense of depth when you got the wall somewhat at a distance. But still, I do not know if I would want to have a wallpaper that I then have to live with for a while. Maybe, maybe not – while I’m thinking, there’s a lot of inspiration to enjoy.

Hooks

Call me silly or strange but hooks are an underestimated as decor possibility in general. I thought I should put together some images to visualise looks & variations, in different areas of the home. It is simple to either make some yourself or find things that you can reuse for this purpose. Or buy expensive designer items that will last a lifetime. Or cheaper with a classic look & in great durable material. Also, as you know already, so easy to make changes that are simple, to vitalise the area. Put up a wallpaper, paint the wall behind, use colourful hooks or just colour match.

I like the idea to use hooks for everything or whatever. Hallway, kids room, kitchen, bathroom, office space , in the garden, the bedroom etc.

Bricks

Here in Australia we have an endless number of houses built in masonry in different styles and in different colour variations. From the red, to white, dark brick as well as black. Incredibly beautiful houses from the mid-1800s, to the new modern buildings. The materials range from polished white, rough brick to a combination of modern wooden & old brick. I appreciate when one attempts to retain the old house & adds to or builds with the new. Two eras that interact is always charming.

I have not always been fond of bricks but it has slowly crept on, like falling in love, with the fabulous surroundings that influences. Especially restaurants & coffee shops around Sydney’s suburbs. Take a look & see what you think!
