I am a sandwich person. Gladly sandwich for breakfast, not for lunch or dinner but to a cup of tea in the evening. I prefer small sandwiches with wholemeal or rye bread. How about this simple version – it is perfect with eggs, ham & tomatoes as well as a little green to. It is nice, right 🙂

Nice appetisers that are nicely arranged, although it is finger food on a stick. Small pieces of melon & cheese, a kind of balsamic vinegar, some fresh greens on a stick that is painted at the top & a wooden bead. Nice for festive occasions.

Light meals – I guess that it might sound boring for some. It’s not so much about light meals as to watch your weight but the more, about less heavy dishes. The older I get the more I feel for healthy food that is nutritious, which is cooked with care for people, animals & environment. Which also means concern for producers. I’ve come to a point where I’m about to decide to become vegetarian. I usually choose chicken or fish, if I’m going for meat, as it is now. Hearty salads or salads with filling has been on the menu at home for a while now. Light meals, or healthy food rather, is also current now, after Christmas buffets, although it is the natural choice in general, for my part.

I picked slightly different images at random where the only common, is that it’s a kind of in-a-row theme in them. Can not say why I did so. I just felt that it was simple & rather uncomplicated because I couldn’t bring myself to do something more ambitious. But it proved to be more difficult than expected actually. It took a while too. But as always when I search for images, there’s so much details, solutions, colours. It’s inspiring in one way or another, that I lose myself in time & place. All of them are certainly not fancy, but it’s not supposed to be so, everything you see shouldn’t be according your liking. That would make things rather boring.

We do not really have the food culture or habits that puts us in candy or sweets traps. Instead of soft drinks, our guys have become accustomed to cold milk – which works well with any kind of food or cookies. We prefer homemade food that is healthy with lots of vegetables & hearty salads. But it’s hard to resist sweets, after dinner, to the coffee or just during a nice family evening together.
Sometimes it’s the freshly baked, the actual scent that is adequate. Or the aesthetics of the baked goods that attracts. I know that it might sound weird but it’s the combination of the taste & smell together with how it looks that makes the whole experience. It doesn’t have to be so fancy, super stylish, big or exclusive. But it’s nevertheless important with the way it looks, you eat with your eyes too, right!
I’ll share a little secret with you – I love donuts. Not the big ones or the regular big size, even if I don´t mind them but those small tiny ones that you have to bite off in small pieces & chew carefully so they’ll last longer. A tip, check out the last image!
