Antoni Gaudí

Antoni Gaudí, born 25th June 1852, is one of the most beloved architects in the world. After his eight years training as an architect, his first solo commission was designing lamp posts. He designed furniture, church interiors & a pharmacy & houses. The project that dominated Gaudí’s life was the Sagrada Família which started 1883 – not yet completely finished. Gaudí brought delight to the world: colour, playfulness, whimsy & beauty. He’s style was startlingly original.

The Casa Batlló, remodelled by Gaudí in 1904, in his own true style.
1885, completion of a house. Quite unique style that had not been seen before.
Gaudís style was to cover rooftops & façades in decorative, highly colourful tiles, mosaics
& floral shapes — truly transformational.

Summer Cottages

Sweden has almost 100,000 lakes & one of Europe’s longest coastlines, dotted with thousands of islands — more than two-thirds of Sweden’s surface is covered in forest. It makes the dream of a summer cottage optimal. The perfect environment to get away from everyday life.

“Things should be primitive but practical. One should relax & live as naturally as possible. That’s the charm.” Words from Gustaf Odel, one of the pioneers of the summer cottage movement.

Fort Canning Park

This is Fort Canning Park, around the corner of where we live. And where we exercise every evening when the heat has cooled down slightly. You can’t pass by without stopping to take a moment for the beautiful view.
