From time to time I get stuck sometimes for prints & illustrations with simple, graphic & sometimes almost childish motives or traits. There’s something about them that makes them more personal & appealing. Not that I don’t like big well crafted paintings & artwork … but it’s maybe more about the innermost inspiration for the simple, somewhat cartoon & occasionally unfinished. Sometimes it can get to be black & white, sketched & maybe with an accent colour.

Other times it interesting with a lot of colour … but still on a limited scale & in collage form, perhaps. Such as further down on this post with the colourful postcards or posters, but still with the childish playful style. Illustrative, simple, cartoon sketch or animated graphic image that takes its place, regardless of size & fills the home with joy.

Bohemian feeling

I found this post in my image library & I remember that I picked these pictures randomly, almost a year ago. I just left it, as it is, because I felt the topic was boring at that time. It’s sort of relevant again when my son started to talk about to redecorate his room. He soon begins at UNI & wants to set up his room so it work as he imagines it could work. I get shivers when he talks about bohemian influences & sees before me incense sticks, cushions & taped posters on the walls. It may sound prejudiced but it’s all about taste & nothing else. So I may as well accept the fact & just close his door, if it becomes unbearable.

go BIGGER

There’s a great deal of oversized framed photos & posters on various inspirational sites. In the right place it certainly makes a difference. In other it looks too cramped to my liking. But again taste is so different so I’m not having an opinion around that. If you don’t want to go for a big, bigger design, you can create that feeling with several small – that hangs in more rows such as one of the images below.

Some people prefer plain or empty walls while others want to fill them with all kinds of art. Either way, it works just fine with either or. But today, you get to put up with a lot of bigger options. Let’s see what you think!
