Lightblue / 162

Hej friends,

Lightblue, a color I think of as rather unusual, these days. Not on kids maybe but generally on adults, in fashion, buildings or whatever. Some colours seems to just disappear for a long time. It’s like they’re not relevant anymore, for some reasons. It’s the same thing with, you know, actors, cities, music, food. I guess it has to do with what trendsetters, ad’s agencies, magazines etc. communicates. We are what we are presented, one might almost say. Too much around us are influenced by  others.

Don’t know what you think about light blue, but I liked what I saw, anyway.

Hej friends,

Time just flies away & I have been so busy the past weeks I hardly remembered my name. That’s life now & then, you just have to go with the flow until you’re back on track … to then take time to look back & ponder over how it went. That’s the beauty of life, when things don’t go according to expectations, but takes a turn sideways & suddenly you’re standing in a new situation & different direction. It’s both exciting & scary as with anything that is alien & unfamiliar.

Well, todays post, came to me through a Bond movie – yes, sorry about that but yes, James Bond. It was with a Swedish translation. I believe that the original tittle is, For your eyes only. That’s not the correct translation but I guess it wouldn’t sound good enough without a flashy titel. Anyway, the Swedish title would be, A deadly point of view. Now, this became a very long introduction to explain how I came up with this theme. Let’s move on before it gets too complicated.

It’s after all quite interesting to look at things from a different point of view, especially if you consider things without taking into account any feelings or prejudices. I wonder what would happen if certain products considered as exclusive, had no logo. Would people really be ready to pay the asked price, if it differs more than 50% between two comparable items. Not knowing can sometimes be crucial to a decision, in a positive way. Occasionally, you might need to take a step back to see the possibilities & therefore be helped to take several steps forward instead … just because you saw things from a different perspective or got a different point of view. This post is actually about a different point of view … on the basis of the lens of a camera, anyway:)

Another brick in the wall / 147

Hej friends,

I’ve been out  on a city tour with some friends & Sydney’s suburbs are full of beautiful & exciting brick houses & buildings. Our first house was in red brick, even though we said, anything but a brick house. It turned out well anyhow & we lived there long enough to renovate the entire house before we moved. I have not always been particularly fond of brick as material. Maybe because I felt that those houses was cold & without soul when I was younger. I grew up in a society that largely consisted of wooden houses, since it was traditionally, the material used in the construction industry …& that still is. What else can you expect from a country that is covered by forest. I love wood in all kinds of shapes, it’s an unbeatable material.

We once had a recreation room with a red brick wall around the fireplace while the other walls were pine paneling. I thought long to paint the brick wall white, but never got started, I think deep down, I wanted to keep the natural red brick as it was. That said, it’s nice with brick houses but I also think it’s exciting to let a brick wall be visible, in a room together with other materials. It adds another dimension, an additional structure that provides warmth & character. Let’s take a look at the different interiors below…
