Here’s a wonderful & inspiring Swedish painter, Johan Einar Jolin, one of my favourites, born in Stockholm (1890 – 1976) & studied at the Swedish Artists’ Association’s painting school with his friend Isaac Grünewald, to then continue his art studies for six years under Matisse in Paris.
Jolin’s motif consists mainly of portraits & still lifes, but also city views, all in naive style. The naive shapes convey wonderful colors with a clean, simple & elegant expression.
Mallorca, the popular star of the Mediterranean, has a sunny personality thanks to its charming beaches, sky-blue views, remote mountains & soulful hill towns. And so many hidden gems to discover.
As a person with an interest in beautiful things & pleasing design language, it’s a lot of images that passes through my everyday life, whether I’m looking for them or they just pops up in the moment. Sometimes it’s tasteful design, smart décor, stylish clothes or simply beautiful views. Some of these views, you may travel to experience while others are outside the window or just around the corner.
