I like to check out the shops, restaurants, cafes & the likes. Not always so much for their range – at least not in terms of first impression. May it be simple or extreme – it doesn’t matter. The place should have something that appeals to all the senses, something that makes you feel comfortable, that makes you want to revisit.
By the way, we are just heading to the beach & we will bike through the city – two birds with one stone!

At times, it is nice to have large areas, or rather, spacious surroundings. It need not always be big because you can sometimes achieve the effect by furnish sparingly. Some rooms can be over-furnished, while others may be too sparsely furnished & lose personality & atmosphere. For my part, it is often about balance & to know when to stop. With my visual background, I always try to hold back to not allow the decorations take over. No, a little space to live & be, is necessary.

I’ve been a collector of lanterns & had way too many for a while. It’s appealing to put them into groups with lit candles. They create such an atmosphere & great feeling, especially when it has darkened a bit in the evenings. They contribute to a high cosiness factor.
