National Indigenous Art Fair

Dance can tell stories in the same way that language does & carry meaning about place, family, laws & shared history. Women often appear in indigenous storytelling as universally respected & important.

I also love seeing children included. It’s not just about performing. They get to be involved from the beginning: watching, participating in small steps & being treated as apprentices, so that the tradition is kept alive by understanding both the movement & the context.
