Daily inspiration, gallery wall

I fell for this picture today.

I think it’s because I always am on the look out for pictures with inspiring wall solutions. On the whole, I think it’s interesting & exciting with photos, pictures, posters & anything else that can be framed or just be put up on a wall. The last year or the years it has become more common with different solutions instead of the standard three frames in a row on the wall. Personal expressions, fun & different thinking around composition, frames around a corner & so on.

This solution requires less colours in the room to allow the wall do the job. Which it certainly does!

Container living

Every time I drive past the airport, I see the huge container hangar where the containers are stacked on one another, in endless rows. It looks like an exciting landscape of orderly rows of giant iron boxes. I think it looks extremely appealing, can’t help it. Every time, the thought occurs, that I would like to live there … which impossible of course. At least right there. But it  is possible to live in a dumpster … or whatever name that is appropriate. They are suitable both as workplace, a home, storey building, kindergarten & so on. Or even a mobile home, why not!

Here are some great solutions that are interesting in many ways. The possibilities are endless & it shouldn’t be too expensive, for those interested. What do you think?

Have a seat

Many seating, long tables, couches along the wall & some space around, does the trick for simple socializing. I like when it is plenty of space without the feeling of a cramped environment. It’s simply  nice with floor space, when possible. It is not always necessary with enormous rooms, either. You can always refine the use to suit the purpose. If you have a dining area, let it be a dining room & make space for many. Put two tables together for the space & mix different chairs to make it less formal. Try to keep focus on the main function to avoid a messy impression or environment.

We all have things that requires storage, which also should be easy to use when necessary. Everything doesn’t need to be visible. Especially when there are loads of clever usage of walls for open or closed storage. Also stylish beds, sofas, bookshelves & patio furniture to use for convenient storage. Endless possibilities, if you so wish. I will not dwell on the subject, but more show attractive solutions with long seating. Whether it’s sofas, dining table or the like. Just because I am so childishly fond of that.

Tin cans

My sister & her husband has recently left us after five weeks visit. They moved to Los Angeles  six years ago & it’s now time to move back home to Sweden again. You have to show your favorite spots, which means a lot of different locations across New South Wales. There’s a plethora of farms, villages, communities with diverse range of markets & shops, to hyper-modern shopping centres. We were not looking to shop, I’ll have to admit. Especially because they already had done their shopping before they left LA & sent these with remaining household possessions.

In all cases, when visiting small cute communities, with sunshine & comfortable warmth, then everything looks appealing, somehow. Even things that you usually don’t look at. Believe me, you feel inspired, influenced & charmed by the attractive surroundings & the nice weather. You are never so keen on coffee as when you’re traveling around like that. Coffee & a small cookie or something sweet to nibble on, or an icecream or two. After a number of visits to different markets, second hand stores & retro decorated cafes, I have almost had enough of old cans of different kinds. It becomes so when you blazes through all these different places. Some things have a tendency to recur.

Succulents

Succulents – sometimes also called fat plants, fascinates me, for some reason. It’s plants that have parts that are a bit thicker, probably to enable water to be stored during dry periods. I like their unusual appearance. Each one looks different & they can survive anything, which is a good thing for someone like me, that hasn’t the talent for required green thumbs! Their green shades, from dark to the brightest green, makes those plants interesting. Especially in combination with white or black pots. But the best thing is that they look nice & are suitable everywhere. Useful in concrete pots, transparent glass, clay pots, or  a mix of all – they have the ability to blend in & harmonize in the environment. I prefer toned-down versions where the plants are to their best advantage. Succulents can be quite colorful but like I said, the simple green variants with their fat leafs, in pots which don’t take too much of the impact. That’s what I like!
