Daily inspiration, Vipp

The Vipp story begins in 1939 – Holger & Marie have just married. Marie is a trained hair dresser & decides to open her own salon. She asks her husband to help furnish the salon with a practical rubbish bin. Holger designs his Vipp bin  & she is delighted with the result.

Originally, the Vipp bin was intended for Marie only. The original bin gets its visual expression through several functional criteria: big foot that makes it stable, a dome-shaped steel lid that makes it easy to clean, ears on each side to make it easy to move around plus a rubber ring on the base to protect the floor.

“Good design never goes out of fashion”, was Holger’s motto. Time has proven him right; the Vipp bin has only been marginally improved since it saw the light in 1939. Functionality remains the starting point for the production of Holger’s metal factory. Vipp is today, a third generation family business with a committed team of employees & a growing range of products.

Take care / Marie
