Cardboard fun / 161

Hej dear friends,

It’s strange the kind of things that makes you ponder, think & reflect. Sometimes you stop seeing daily things around you & when suddenly someone makes a comment, you wonder why you didn’t thought of it yourself. It’s like this thing with recycling, there’s so much we can do but we don’t take time or might not see the possibilities. Recycling can sound really boring (not for every one of course). But talented people around tend to come up with things that are surprising, fun, exciting & different. These individuals influences me to rethink.

I came to think of paper, boxes, cardboard etc when I emptied old moving boxes & went to the recycling station with both them & some old stuff. Once back home, I had to check browse online to see out what I could come up with. And as I mentioned, there’s loads of talented people out there:)

Hej friends,

We’ve been shopping with our guys this weekend. Black shoes to complete the school uniform was on the list to our youngest. He’s been using shoes which contributed to a note from school with a warning that it couldn’t continue. The shoes that’s recommended looks … well, not so good, they weigh half a ton & are very clumsy to wear. We bought a pair earlier & they are now parked somewhere in a dark corner & will never ever see the light again. We went for black Converse in leather – simple, black & straightforward model that just landed in store. We’ll see how it works!  Next task was to purchase a camera to replace that which has been worn out, to say the least. It was our oldest son who needed it to his film assignments. It took a while to find the right model with all the necessary paraphernalia. He was proud as a peacock because he paid it all by himself with money he earned as a barista between school lessons. A great feeling of independence, I guess:)

The last task was a shopping tour with our student friend who’s staying with us for a few months. It was a difficult task, because girls is more , well, more picky might be the right word to describe it. It’s a beautiful girl in the same age as my youngest, 17 years. She is tall, slim & good looking which means she fits in just about everything. But it was not quite that easy, of course. It’s never easy, right?  Either way, there were some nice purchases that she was so pleased over – in fact so happy that she felt healthy & spirited enough, to go out with buddies in the evening. This after having been sick with a fever & sore throat a couple of days. There’s nothing that can’t be cured by some shopping, indeed:)

Today’s post is about small spaces but not the usuual small space living. In this case it’s about small decorative ones as a nice addition into the home environment. I find them appealing & they tend to make me smile. I hope that they’ll create a similar feel within you.

Hej friends,

Up early with breakfast ready, a super-clean house, rooms’s completed & welcomes our dear relatives with neatly
made beds. They will need them very soon after 32 hours of travel time. It’s great to have them here finally. I have noticed that loading pallets (or what- ever they are called) occurs rather frequently in many places, for other uses than the usual. Both in homes as well as in retail & restaurants. It’s looks great & fun, it’s cheap & don’t need any maintenance, can’t really ask for more. It wouldn’t work in some places & doesn’t fit everyones taste & style but in the right place – it’s striking with it’s simple material & expression, combined with an individual touch. It’s often the case when you find a solution used for other purposes than what the item were made for from start. You will find it becomes perfect in the right setting when your stuff is added. These things are becoming more & common. Might be because of the explosion with media where everyone can share their ideas online. Might also be a need to create something of your own in all the mass that exists. Or because of  of the view & awareness of future environmental perspective & a healthy approach to recycling. There are so many good reasons & as many creative people people, thankfully. Here’s some homemade beauty.
