Place of work / 182

Hej friends,

I promised to do something more modern way back when I blogged about workplaces. I was reminded recently so I guess I have to keep my promises. And I don’t mind, there’s so many inspiring work spaces, for sure. I have a particular fondness for long desks for, preferably several in a row. I like it when I can see what I’m doing & things sorted in a manner that gives me an overview. Especially when I can move things along the tables & still have it spacious around & beside.

I do favour basic colours as you know … black & white  with a few colourful details. Similar to the first image below or the third. The fourth isn’t so bad, nor the fifth either. Well, as I said, there’s loads of great & inspiring solutions. And why chose when you can have it all…at least through images :)

Take a seat / 112

Hej friends,

So how was your weekend, nice, relaxing busy, enjoyable…

I’ve been out shopping with my dear sister who’s going back to L A tomorrow. She managed to be upgraded to first class on the way here so she was very pleased when she arrived…relaxed & rested. She goes back as heavyweights in view of everything she bought. I dare not even mention all, with the risk of being regarded as shopaholic. But it’s really not that bad. She’s more an workaholic so she never finds time to shop. I’m nevertheless very happy that she found so many adorable things & she looks really great in every garment. In all cases, returning to today’s topic, it’s all about sitting comfortably … have a seat please, make your self comfortable & give yourself a few minutes to scroll through t0days post – it’s about armchairs. It’s not just any armchairs, they’re really nice. I know that I’ve said it before but I’m not picking images based on my taste only because , well – I guess a lot of my blogging would be too predictable & boring, for some at least, but what do I know?

Anyway, these armchairs are in different styles. When I think about it, I’d probably have to admit that I’m relatively boring & predictable after all. You’ll see that all are in one colour although they have different expressions… I’m extremely influenced by my upbringing & environment, it’s in the genes. They are all WHITE but in my defence, I’m careful selecting various styles & tastes. Now, you’ll probably need to take some time to check out these nice images, right? Go ahead, take a seat:)

Hells kitchen / 81

Hej friends,

I haven’t blogged about kitchens, I don’t get it, it should be the top area to write about because it’s the best place to spend time with family & friends. It’s true that the kitchen is the heart of the home. We spend a lot of time there – often hours around the dinner table with great food (that is when i’m not the chef) nice music & candles…lots of candles. It’s the perfect place to socialise, the place to hang, discuss, debate, argue & solve all the worlds issues. Well, I’ve looked around for some nice images & I’m addressing this theme now – so here you are, all in black – yep, black, but not hells kitchen:)

Figure that out / 54

Hej there friends,

So, here I am, back after a public holiday & great time with my family.

I am trying to come up with a clever slogan each time, to hint what you can expect on the blog. Don’t tell me that you haven’t noticed, it would break my heart. I bet today’s slogan is too difficult, huh?

I have always had a passion for letters & figures…graphically. They stand out no matter where or which environment & creates interest. It’s about the shape & how they can be used. In my early days, I worked as a visual merchandiser & shop decorator…we had to do all communication by hand. No computers guys, imagine that! I got more feeling for certain letters then others, same with some numbers. Some were so simple & smooth – they followed the movement of the hand, as I wrote out the words. They just appeared into place. Alphabet & numbers has been around within interior design more or less over the years. Right now, it seems like it’s more then ever. I like that:)

Letter in wood, covered in paper from the comic book Phantom. Do you remember Mr. Walker / Hand made Charlotte

An exciting wall with alphabet on the front of the shelf, the letters is almost three-dimensional. Very beautiful / Graham Greene

Irresistible, the F word:) makes the whole room. Works well in the environment as well as the sign beside with numbers & the old suitcase / In my house

If people want figures & numbers, let us provide them with that, why not / H&M home

R is one of the letters that has a strong expression, especially in red, although I’m not so fond of the colour combination in total / Like it when you smile

XIV – easy to figure out & looks gorgeous in this nicely styled kitchen / Skona hem

Amen, Try to live by that & you will feel a tremendous relief & freedom / Etsy

Rough, worn & well thought out in every detail – with graphic signs that enhances the mood of the room / graphic Exchange

An old beauty  that is loved certainly with letters directly on the floor – simple styling / Mark Monroe

Lovely colour scheme from white & beige to black…& numbers & letters again / Pinterest

T he kids also get their share of the cake, of course. An A stitched in yellow plaid fabric & padded, for small hands / Skona hem

Take care / Marie

Knock knock, who’s there / 27

Hej there, I’m blogging about doors today, because I find them exciting, beautiful & inviting…opening up to something new & or easy to close when it’s needed. The look, colours, shapes, sizes…I wish sometimes that they could tell about all the people that has passed through. When you think about that, we do have a choice each morning as we walk out the door.. to decide for something that is fun at least once during that day.  If you have that in mind each time you walk out that door, it might be interesting to find out how much that can affect your day, if you managed to break the pattern. You know, running in the same track & not always prioritising what’s really important – to live! We are all alike, more or less…steered by what’s expected of us, what we need & have to do. I MUST, I SHOULD, I HAVE TO vs I WISH, I WANT, I FEEL FOR,

Next time you walk out that door, decide for one tiny thing, something that makes you happy … one tiny, tiny thing. In fact, it doesn’t have to be through your own door. You can only regret things you didn’t do…all the rest is experience. And you, don’t forget to cast a glance at the doors you are passing … there are so many beautiful around,

Wether you like colours or not, this combination is difficult to resist – it warmths your heart / Vicki Horton,

I like the combination with the door & the colour together with the striped black/white door canopy / Pinterest,

A bright yellow colour to make your day / Pinterest,

A beautifully worn red backdoor, perhaps not so usable but more decorative – which is good enough / Google,

Another way to use the door more as a decorative as a stand-alone ornament / Greige interior design,

There is nothing like a black door, elegant, magnificent & impressive / MIX SE,

Well, what can I say, it’s very charming / House & home,

Brightly colourful doors that welcomes visitors & puts a smile on their face / Google,

I like this Italian door collage, it’s so cute / Googles,

Take care / Marie
