Coffee tables / 127

Hej dear ones,

Coffee tables, that’s what I figured would be nice to blog about today. These little wonders that fit a little here, there & practically everywhere. They may look different, have different in size, color & material. However, just about anything work, it’s just to decide on design, whether you’r buying it or make it yourself. There’s an awful lot to choose from & in various price ranges. And as always, it’s not the most expensive, that is the nicest or best. It all depends on where & how you are going to use it, the size of the room, the style,  if it’s going to be the center of the area or mobile. Do you need a lot of space on the table or somewhere to store things when not in use. You might need to think of safety, such as without a glass top, or wheels, stable so that it’s not easy to overturn. Yes, the list can be long but it’s useful to consider WHAT, before you rush out to shop.

Many of these coffee tables are like candy nowadays. Hard to resist, with wonderful design & clever function. There are plenty to choose from & there’s a wide selection on offer in each shop. I have gathered together some different tables that I think is nice – albeit in different expressions. In fairness, I would not use a couple of these at home. Pretty or stylish yes, but it does not mean that I want everything I see. I can however see how they could look like in the right environment , therefore, they are nice in my eyes. Have a look, maybe you’ll find your coffee table…

Best friend on wheels / 122

Hej friends,

Here comes a break in the eternal blogging about textiles, to you in need of another inspiration. But I’m soooooon back with a new post about textiles. One of my favoutire things is servng trays as well as serving trolleys. When it comes to trolleys, I would end up in way too many if space permitted. They are so extremly flexible & mobile. Good not only as a support-surface but also as a great friend in the kitchen. By the way, it’s not just limited to the kitchen. It’s excellent in the bathroom, the living room, on the patio … wherever you are in needed really. The laundry room or garage is not to belittle either. The only place I would avoid is the children’s room. It’s not safe because of the wheels or to climb on, which would certainly attract these little people. Anyway, I just love these serving trolleys, which you
surely have guessed already.

Although I mentioned that they’re not appropriate in children’s rooms, we had such to our guy when he was little. It was high with four shelves just enough for the plastic boxes, that we stored inside. Perfect for the thousands of Lego pieces that otherwise might have ended up everywhere (which of course they did anyway) & for all the annoying little things that were current at that time. Much later, when our guys demanded their bedtime stories, we used it to store many of their books. It hung on a long time, that particular trolley.

So you could certainly say that it was a good friend on wheels, indeed. We did not even dare mention to the children that we threw it when we moved abroad. It was forgotten over time because we lived temporarily in a apartment hotel before our household goods were shipped over & we got permanent living. Some things dissolves by itself with time :)

This is an old serving trolley, a beautiful pice that is difficult to get hold of. This one is used as intended from the beginning, when it appeared / Vintageluxe

This blue trolley beautifully worn, rusted & frayed / Vintagehome

A sleek, modern version in metal that can be used as shown here, more as a still-life object really / Skonahem

With a kitchen island, it’s good to be able to use the trolley as an extension / Pinterest

A version with three shelves, with a suspension device over the trolley – practical & readily for use / Jimmiekarlsson

A nice one to have when everything around is in white / Blackbird

This one has glass shelves that makes the expression easy & airy. Extra stylish with the red tray at the top / Dustjacket

This one is one of my favourites because of the industrila look as well as the fact that it’s a bit longer than other models / Housedoctor

Another kitchen island where the trolley is used as an extension / Keltainen

A smaller version in light blue / Housedoctor

Nice solution, almost as an installation, a work of art /  Creativeinspiration

A bit higher & more narrow, with wheels in the front & white shelves / Livet hemma

Application areas are limitless really – use it where it suits you / Pinterest.com

A pretty & neat model that’s used for a special occasion / Zsazsabellagio
