Pretentious perhaps / 213

I can’t make up my mind about skin / leather such as cowhide & the like. I don’t think that I’m fond of them - only to be used as a decoration in the home. The reason being that the animals need them more than we do. It might for some, sound a little pretentious but there are actually other options, in my opinion. I can’t say I mind others using them, it’s up to each one, of course. I understand the attraction as well as the aesthetics of it but still can’t bring myself to it fully. But so what, it’s not a big deal really.

Anyhow, it ‘s interesting how different it can look in different environments. As always, when you mix materials, colours & furniture in a good way. If you then use your creative side to bring on your own touch … well, then, just occupy the place & enjoy. No matter if it’s pretentious with cowhide or not!

Masculine / 168

Hej dear friends,

My youngest left us yesterday to spend three weeks in Sweden. That’s the first time ever that he is away for that long. It feels strange & a bit empty inside. Something essential is missing. I want my baby back but I’m sure that he is enjoying his journey to the fullest. It’s a big thing to travel to the other side of the world, when you’re 17 years. At the same time as it’s a very useful & beneficial experience. So I felt that I had to connect this post to my son & his first step, into the adult world. His first big trip & first time alone from home.

It’s a masculine theme today. At least the way I see it. Not everyone would agree with me, which is fine of course. We are all individuals with different liking & taste. It’s rarely about male or female, rather, more about personality. Still, dear friends, I believe that these images are more attractive to men. However, it’s not either or. Just a gentle opinion.

Why don’t you take a look & make up your mind. Masculine or not, I hope you will enjoy the moment.

Skinheads / 79

Hej Friends,

Leather is a fantastic material & with right treatment it will last a life time, at least. When we had small children, people would always recommend leather sofas to the living room, because it was so easy to clean. There’s loads of stylish sofas in leather. Our first furniture was actually leather sofas. We were convinced by family & friends that leather was a wise investment, as it would become a life purchase – as was the common approach in the good old days. I don’t know, we were never totally delighted in them, hot to sit in after a while & did not feel kind to the tiny soft bodies of our children. They were stiff quite simply. But one thing were certain at least, they are truly sustainable. We gave them to my in-laws who installed them in the reading room in front of the fire place…& they still look like new. The thing is that they are much more comfortable to sit in today, twenty years later. Amazing! Maybe, I’m thinking, maybe, I should take them back:)

Anyway, I pulled together some images in leather/skin as todays theme,

Manly men / 50

Hej friends,

I’m thinking of men! while it’s a bit cloudy outside although the sun has begun to shine through. So why men – well, I got huge response on one of the post I made a while ago. It’s raining men. I’m happy that that went down well but I’m not going to blog purely about men, sorry. I’ve gone halfway & chosen to keep it within my interests, so todays post it’s about … interior men might like or appreciate. I have to generalise a bit – to not be perceived as prejudiced, it’s a balancing act. It’s like believing that all women like pink, which of course isn’t true at all. Let’s take a look & I can only hope that my male readers will take it in the right way.

Here you go then, dear manly men:)
