People / 249

What is there to say about people, about individuals, of humanity? Are we that interesting really? I sometimes wonder if we do not simply repeat ourselves. We are, however, many who tries to imitate each other – in our attempts to not be the unique individuals we are. In what we actually would & could be the best at! We are not always aware of their individuality or charisma. All those who have persuaded themselves that they are not good enough. Not beautiful enough, not slim enough, not popular or whatever it might be. Isn’t it sad! To not allow yourself to see what others sees, when you’re looking in the mirror. It’s often those who actually have something to be proud of, that are hard on themselves. Sadly, we do not allow ourselves to look beyond self-criticism & realise thus not how tough demands we place on ourselves.

If life & experience has taught me anything, again & again, then it’s precisely this – to have faith in my self & to have faith in people. It certainly has changed others but mostly myself. So, be kind to yourself :)

Thursday, leading up to Christmas / 102

Hej guys,

Thursday & just a few days left to Christmas eve the. Christmas is a holiday for everyone, although maybe more special for all children. We used to make it big & beautiful when my children were small. As if I could fulfill all their dreams & hopes with a beautiful decorated home for Christmas. As if all beauty could protect them, take care of them, be kind to them…such as any parent desires for their children. We made everything in the evening when they had gone to bed & it was pure joy to see their faces when they woke up to a total makeover. Someone once said that beauty makes people kind & considerate. There may be some truth in it. Today, they are young men and still look forward to Christmas in the same way as when they were small.

Believe it or not, but they still write wish lists, plays Christmas music to breakfast last week before Christmas, watching Christmas movie almost every evening in December, puts all the gifts under the Christmas tree and … they just have to open one present on Christmas morning right after breakfast…as we did when they were small, just to keep them calm. Traditions are sometimes hard to break. Traditions are hard to break, especially when they’re nice and reminds about fond memories & experiences. Once in a while it’s nice to be small again, at least for Christmas. Here’s some nice images to get you into the Christmas spirit…this Thursday – leading up to Christmas, enjoy!

My precious / 9

Hej friends,

My precious are three important guys (one of them my dear husband). My family are the biggest part in my life & of course, most important. Nothing else matters in comparison. Karl Anton is my oldest, he is studying dramatic art at UNI. Axel is in high school, he lives for his music. Two very different individuals who are in constant development. They are experiencing continuous learning, gaining insight & experience, which in time will be crafting their personalities. The time has passed quickly, as always, when you are caught up in the everyday living. That’s why it’s so important to be present, to be in the moment. Difficult but nevertheless important.

My little ones guys have grown into young men & has become safe & independent. They’ve changed a great deal just in the past few years. Friends, interests & ideas came & went. Thoughts & opinions have changed. Clothing, fashion & hair styles is nothing they want to be reminded about (who ever would want that). Anyway, I love them & adore them, as any other parents does of course. I’m glad they have grown up to the wise & thoughtful individuals they are. There’s loads of things that happens during the teenage years & a lot that can go wrong. The entire period is a never ending learning, both for them & us as parents. Interesting indeed! Yet I feel ashamed, saying that I occasionally wish I could stop time. On the other hand it probably can’t go fast enough, when you are at that age.

Karl Anton, my oldest, with his mum on a city walk,

On the way to a family dinner,

A stroll in the park & a few minutes break,

On the way home from school,

The brothers show their appreciation to the musician of a department store,

New hair cut, colour & new sun glasses,

New hair colour, waiting for ordered food,

Take care / Marie
