Stripped needs / 178

Hej there friends,

There’s so much buzz around in my daily life at work which indeed is both fun & quickening. However, I have great need for silence with as little noise as possible, once I’m home. At least from time to time. I guess it’s a human need because of our busy lives, being constantly connected as well as busy with different stuff. Even holidays are filled with actions & activities so once we’re back, we’re so tired so we have to have time off, again. I don’t know about you but it’s certainly like that in my circle of friends.

Precious, precious time, some of the few things left in life, that we can’t buy. And that we don’t seem to handle too well. We want time but can’t really relax once we get it. So if you are in that moment – take some time to yourself. Relax, turn off the phone, read a book, listen to the silence, allow your thoughts flow freely. Just do something you like. You don’t need a reason! Do it because you like it, because you want to, because it makes you happy. Here are some peaceful images with only what is regarded as necessary.

Hej friends,

Up early with breakfast ready, a super-clean house, rooms’s completed & welcomes our dear relatives with neatly
made beds. They will need them very soon after 32 hours of travel time. It’s great to have them here finally. I have noticed that loading pallets (or what- ever they are called) occurs rather frequently in many places, for other uses than the usual. Both in homes as well as in retail & restaurants. It’s looks great & fun, it’s cheap & don’t need any maintenance, can’t really ask for more. It wouldn’t work in some places & doesn’t fit everyones taste & style but in the right place – it’s striking with it’s simple material & expression, combined with an individual touch. It’s often the case when you find a solution used for other purposes than what the item were made for from start. You will find it becomes perfect in the right setting when your stuff is added. These things are becoming more & common. Might be because of the explosion with media where everyone can share their ideas online. Might also be a need to create something of your own in all the mass that exists. Or because of  of the view & awareness of future environmental perspective & a healthy approach to recycling. There are so many good reasons & as many creative people people, thankfully. Here’s some homemade beauty.

White painted pallets acts as a bed base on a dark floor, with fresh & beautiful bed clothes / La maison

A bit like an ware house with concrete walls & floors, some rattan & lovely sky blue quilt covers for the shipping pallets / Johanna vintage

This worn & used pallet looks great as a coffee table on wheels in this environment / Love nordic design

Shipping pallets with wheels on, gets a new function as coffee table / Hege greenall scholtz

Home crafted cafe furniture timber from shipping pallets, I suppose. Looks great / Konfetti

Rough, raw & in one piece, probably the cheapest you can get for a bed, which yet becomes so great here in the end. funny huh?/ Pinterest

Untreated again but two pallets on top of each other to get the correct height & also gain storage space under / Pinterest

This one is clever, done as a sofa with some space to support your feet / In my house

Similar type but with legs to get the height / Moodboard typepad

Two levels with storage space on a white wood floor & light blue bed / quilt covers. Nice also with magazines to support the tray on the side / Pinterest

Very homy feeling with all cushions & accessories as well as the old door as a back cover to the couch / Make it my own

Another sofa solution along the wall with a thick mattress for comfortable seating / Skona hem

(Sorry about some of the images quality).

Deep waters / 71

Hej friends,

It’s strange how the weather behaves this spring. We had several days with around 29-31 degrees & are now down to 19 -23. Minor problem indeed but nevertheless tricky. It has been really cold inside & it doesn’t take much in order to freeze indoors, in Australia. Houses aren’t built or insulated for too cold weather. Lucky that we have a bathtub then..although it looks like a submarine with all taps & knobs. But works as a proper bath tub, fill up with hot water & make sure the stopper is where it should, so the water don’t flow out:) It has been used a few times so far by our youngest. It does’t seem so common now these days with bathtub even though they still are installed & associated with relaxation. I guess we don’t have the time or we save time by showering.

Here, I offer you a bath, while not in deep waters, but via some inspiration:)

Nice old fashioned room with bath tube in enamel green & an oriental rug for wet feet / This pretty space

Of course, a white beautiful bath room with a white bath tube & a chandelier / Skandia Maklarna

Dark-brown wood-paneling & white walls / Google

Shadows from the window provides an exciting on the wooden floor / Paonote room 269

Ceramic tiles on the floor, white walls, nice lights from the windows plus character through furnishings/ Bolig

Very coordinated bathroom, from animal skin to the clothing & frames plus pictures on the wall./ Little blue deer

Well, pretty romantic setting – just not sure if I’d like to have the bath tube in the bedroom / Frogs and Crowns

Rustic, charming & sweet / Inspiring Interiors

Industrial feel with grey steel cabinets, grey  curtains, arm chair in leather & a chandelier / Greige

Oops, maybe little too far, quite nice but I don’t believe that books like a moist environment particularly well / House & Home

Type of tub that is used on the fields to water the animals / Gudrun Sjoden

A bath surrounded by green scenery – certainly soothing, don’t you think / Home & Garden

A very nice environment with a bath tub in a warm red colour / Inspiring Interiors

Globetrotter / 45

Hej friends, I have amused myself by looking around for images with world globes & found a lot. I asked some friends & it appears that most of them have a world globe in their home, somewhere. I wonder if that has anything to do with love of travel or if it’s more about the adventure to experience & discover. I love globes in all forms but I think I prefer the older ones. However, it is frightening to realize how little I know about different countries around the world. Continents, by all means, but I am constantly finding new names of both countries & cities. It’s really fascinating. I like the round form & think it looks a little cozy to have a globe in the study. It’s in all cases where we have our standing. I have not plugged it yet … it’s too difficult to stretch down behind the tables to access socket. Isn’t it ridiculous, huh? I know, I know, anyway, here are some pictures that I found & I hope you will find them nice enough to enjoy.

Nice work place with suitcases & old cans & wooden box but the thing here is the world globe on the top shelf / My white room

This interior has three pieces o n the shelf, indeed / Peeks of perfection

This one is probably an old one but no matter what, it’s a very nice one / Pinterest

What do we have here then, three different sizes & models. I’m fond of the first one from the right / The handmade room

This one is a beauty & even though it looks old fashioned, I think it’s a new on. Don’t matter really / Googles

A small on on the side table in the corner / Inspiring interiors

A nice little boyhood room with a world globe on the white cabinet – sweet / Inspiring interiors

A modern globe on a modern lime green table & other green details / Family living

Stylish surrounding with a beautiful spinning stair & the globe fits perfect in this environment / Elle interior

Several globes on a round side table in a suitable environment / Decorating with maps

Is this to a collector or have we got into a school classroom, perhaps / Decorating with maps

I’m in loooove, just look at these lights, so incredibly wonderful. Made for a large room, but I believe that they come in smaller sizes also / dahlarna

The green lantern / 37

Hello friends,

I’ve pondered a bit about how much time it actually takes to blog, after a conversation with some friends. Honestly, I would not have believed it, if someone had told me before I started. But it is incredibly exciting – with a whole world out there. Loads of talented bloggers, loads of people with inspiring & thought provoking ideas. Individuals willing to share interesting reflections & knowledge with everyone who’s interested & not least, inexhaustible source of information & inspiring images. Amazing!

Well, you can tell that spring has arrived to Sydney, it’s growing around the neighbourhood  - what suits better then a green theme. I’m definitely not a person with any talent when it comes to gardening although I do appreciate the beauty. I’m fond of green colours, it’s easy to use & combine with other colours. I’m into green & have been for a while now, mostly moss green. So from me to you – here’s some green inspiration.

Hello there guys, here I am sitting on green grass clump & have a good time / At home,

This is a fantastic window - the stained glass makes the whole environment / Residence,

This is designed & well thought out & the green accents are the icing on the cake / Residence,

I do adore still-life installations in all forms & this one is so simple & yet so captivating / Solid frog,
