Woolly / 167

Hej dear friends,

Woolly time – it’s getting chilly & we are in the middle of the winter here in Sydney. It’s rather nice during the day but really cold at nights. We have filled up with blankets in all rooms plus extra on the couches. Warm socks is on & the heating element is running. Thick sweaters & scarves prepared on the hall bench, ready to be in use before leaving home…especially in the evenings. I have to dress in layers, early mornings on the Vespa to work. Although it’s windy & cold on the road, it’s not comparable to the chilly evenings right now.

So therefore, it’s very fitting with sheepskin in the couches & on the floor. Warming as well as stylish. We had loads of sheepskin that we left back home in Sweden. I couldn’t imagine that they would be useful over here. We used them in the sled in wintertime, when we pulled the kids to school or for grocery shopping or just for a walk. Very handy indeed! Anyway, with the cold & chilly weather in mind, I thought it to be suitable with a woollly theme today, right?

Hej friends,

So how was your weekend, nice, relaxing busy, enjoyable…

I’ve been out shopping with my dear sister who’s going back to L A tomorrow. She managed to be upgraded to first class on the way here so she was very pleased when she arrived…relaxed & rested. She goes back as heavyweights in view of everything she bought. I dare not even mention all, with the risk of being regarded as shopaholic. But it’s really not that bad. She’s more an workaholic so she never finds time to shop. I’m nevertheless very happy that she found so many adorable things & she looks really great in every garment. In all cases, returning to today’s topic, it’s all about sitting comfortably … have a seat please, make your self comfortable & give yourself a few minutes to scroll through t0days post – it’s about armchairs. It’s not just any armchairs, they’re really nice. I know that I’ve said it before but I’m not picking images based on my taste only because , well – I guess a lot of my blogging would be too predictable & boring, for some at least, but what do I know?

Anyway, these armchairs are in different styles. When I think about it, I’d probably have to admit that I’m relatively boring & predictable after all. You’ll see that all are in one colour although they have different expressions… I’m extremely influenced by my upbringing & environment, it’s in the genes. They are all WHITE but in my defence, I’m careful selecting various styles & tastes. Now, you’ll probably need to take some time to check out these nice images, right? Go ahead, take a seat:)

The Sandman / 111

Hej friends,

The Sandman appears later & later now when we have many pleasant visits & overnight stays. I’m up way too late talking, socialising, watching movies, eating & eating… which perhaps isn’t so good … in the long run. We have travel around & seen a lot but the last days we’ve been hanging around the pool since it has been too hot for any activities. This, I am grateful for as I have been able to doze off in the sun bed & catch up on lost sleep. One have time to think when you’re lying in a comfortable sun chair … which got me thinking of bedding. We have a beautiful bed with stylish white headboard which now is time to replace, unfortunately. Actually, we would have done it long ago but I haven’t found any bed that I like. I’m almost sure that I want to have a white bed…but until I catch sight of the correct model will I continue to dream with my eyes open - except when the Sandman comes to visit, of course:)

A ribbed low headboard isn’t so bad but I think I prefer white / Athomewithnina

Hej dear friends

I like chairs for many reasons so I thought I’d post some images with different chairs in different environments. Just because! Chairs are really nothing more than a plate of four sticks. Nevertheless, it’s quite fascinating what an incredible design that can be found … & that there is room for ever-new models every year. I am constantly finding new favourites but then I’m a chair fan, too. It’s very appealing with different styles around the table…worn, new, old, modern, inherited, dressed, varying colours. Makes it feel inviting & welcoming. It’s an easy way to add a little colour & character to the surface. Chairs are as jewellery & has their own personal expression. Moreover, it’s a big difference in comfort. But sometimes, just sometimes, I care less about that … It’s more important with the way they look, actually. On the other hand, its height is of major importance. There is nothing boring than sitting high over a desk or so low you hit the chin. Seat height & appearance, that’s what counts for me.

Hej friends,

It’s been a while since I checked out into clothing. I like fashion but are not particularly interested in keeping up with the various trends that comes & goes, at least for my own part. I’m more interested of the general appearance of design & how it may affect other relevant fields. It’s exciting with the creativity that exists. I’ve scrolled through some websites, online shopping, blogs & magazines – just for fun. It’s about the the same stuff all over with minor variations. The attributes that beautifies us can be simple, extreme, expensive, second hand but no matter what – be sure to select the one you love. Wearing those, is when you are at your finest. I haven’t bothered about fashion or trends in this post. I’ve just gone by things that caught my eye.
