Cushion decor / 186

Dear friends,

I mentioned cushions as one of my passions in one of my earlier posts, which now inspired me to do some more blogging with this in mind. So here we go again … I can never get enough of textiles, neither cushions, fabrics, colours & patterns. To be honest, I actually prefer pillow cases because they don’t take any space to store & are easy to wash & iron … instead of whole cushions that have  to fit somewhere, when not in use. It’s more common here in Australia, with cushions, than the use of inner cushions with removable covers in different designs.

I usually try to find pieces of fabrics to sew instead. So I can get the design & colour I like. Moreover, it’s easy to change the expression after season or pleasure. You just have to change covers – it’s done in a flash, takes no time. As for sewing, well, well, sewing is perhaps too much to say, submitting those jobs to professionals, is more right. It was a long time ago now, I took the time to sew. Nevertheless, an interior does not feel finished until cushions are in place. Icing on the cake, so to speak :)

Place of work / 182

Hej friends,

I promised to do something more modern way back when I blogged about workplaces. I was reminded recently so I guess I have to keep my promises. And I don’t mind, there’s so many inspiring work spaces, for sure. I have a particular fondness for long desks for, preferably several in a row. I like it when I can see what I’m doing & things sorted in a manner that gives me an overview. Especially when I can move things along the tables & still have it spacious around & beside.

I do favour basic colours as you know … black & white  with a few colourful details. Similar to the first image below or the third. The fourth isn’t so bad, nor the fifth either. Well, as I said, there’s loads of great & inspiring solutions. And why chose when you can have it all…at least through images :)

Randomly brown / 179

Hej friends,

I had coffee in a beautiful little chocolate shop a while ago & the coffee part is located below the ground floor. The store it self is not so overly special but the serving area is very nice, cozy & inviting. They have obviously decided to work with the shop fittings in various shades of brown which in this case was the right choice. The lighting, colors, furniture & store expression was quite appealing & inviting. The environment was excellent together with the range … lovely pralines of all sorts, sizes, taste, shape…that is just waiting to be chosen! And when you add to the smell of coffee, then it’s easy to think that you are in heaven.

Brown is one of my favourite colours. I do prefer to combine it together with white, beige & black or just different brown shades. That is me, the predictable one. Well, it’s all about flavor & there are just as much tastes as there are people, of course, right?

Jeans time / 171

Hej dear friends,

I’ve received quite a lot of questions regarding the topics I have blogged about. Many are about how I find the inspiration. Some of you do assume that I’m very creative. That’s very kind indeed although not necessary true. You see, I don’t believe creativity belongs to a certain field of competence or solely exists within typical occupations. Every human being is creative, for sure. Even those who consider that they aren’t creative or have no imagination. Just to collaborate with other people requires certain amount of creativity. Or to cook everyday & to vary the food requires some creativity indeed.

We went shopping recently with our boys & jeans was on their wish list. They have totally different taste & preferences, which is kind of interesting. They don’t buy the same brands, colours or style. Yet, they borrow garments of each other all the time. I can’t figure out how that works. They seem to argue & discuss any purchase the other one does. Our youngest has a more hip style, while our oldest is more preppy & uses base colours. Those differences also applies to their hair styles.

However, they are equally wonderful, beautiful, lovely, great, nice …& best of all, they are mine. I mean ours :)

Pastel / 170

Hej friends,

Pastel colours comes & goes – seems to be in favour for many people. I blogged about mint green a while ago & got so much response with requests to do something in pastel. So here you go then…

Pastels remind me about certain times in life when these colours were in vogue. The color palette is infinite & can be combined with all sorts of colours & materials. With grey you’ll get an elegant look, with black a bit dramatic, etc. I can’t claim that I’m overly fond of pastels but a slight addition here & there, is quite nice at times. It always depends on how it’s done. I do like pink, the soft pink shade that fits so well together with grey or white. (you can picture how boring & predictable I am, cant you?). But that’s where it ends for me, I don’t think I own anything in pastel really. Nothing more then a dark grey scarf with soft pink roses in different shades, a nice knitted sweater, also in pale pink & a t-shirt, that’s about it. But, but, it’s never too late, right:)
