Blazer theory

My fashion theory is that it should be easy to combine various garments with each other, but also with other things as well. Such as jeans with a big knitted sweater, to same jeans with a stylish blazer & a t-shirt under. Or to a strict white blouse one day & a more relaxed one another day. Jeans, chinos or shorts or skirts. Nothing pretentious or too much – to avoid feeling dressed-out rather than dressed up. Not too much details either. Simple smooth structures, preferably not too much colour & no jewelry … unless it is simple design & rather anonymous.

Am I not an exciting person? It would suit me perfectly if there was a style that melted together with the surroundings … that does not stand out, but is just there. I realize that the older I get, the simpler I want it to be with clothing. Is it perhaps development in the right direction? I guess it depends on the viewer … or is it perhaps the wearer.

Anyway, I thought I should provide you with my opinion about blazers, which are an excellent garment – to everything!

Casual clothing / 239

The few occasions I attempt to blog about fashion, it’s rarely about the latest within that field. No, others can do it much better than me. I just can’t keep up – neither trends nor interest. Materials, colours, details – that’s rather exciting & fun. Checking out people is really inspiring. The Street is the best place to keep track of what’s in vogue (it’s the more exciting too). I like the  mixture of designs, colours AND above all, the diversity of personalities. Clothes make us interesting, at least to begin with. It is not about how trendy you are, or the price range you chose to dress in. Not for my part, anyway.

It’s about how to put together garment, how to combine things, how to dress in colours or patterns, etc. so that it enhances individual’s character. You could dress fairly bland but still bring attention … if you would like to, of course. It’s a talent to be able to dress up without going too far, or vice versa. Anyway, we need all the variations of flavours & styles to become motivated, inspired, curious or challenged. Or maybe just amused, if nothing else. I will not do either of it, with this post. I walk the broad way with that which seems a bit obvious, nothing unexpected nor surprising. What else can you expect from an ordinary woman :)

Hat attack / 146

Hej friends,

Being crazy about hats isn’t because of trends or any other reason than that it’s looks nice & stylish, it’s comfortable as well as good in the sun or rain plus that you’ll get an individual look. Hats has been on & off, in different periods. I blogged about hats used in interiors, a while ago…take a look. I don’t know why but hats are ok in certain environments, in certain societies & type of people. Not too long ago actually used by the many. I think that some might feel a bit silly in a hat because they’re not used to wear it & therefore they think then that it does not suit them. People basically convince themselves of it, rather than the opposite. That’s pity really. I’m a firm believer that everyone looks good in a hat, you just have to find the right style, shape & colour. And wear it long enough to get used to it. Then it will feel as natural as putting on your socks.

My darling has several ones that he alternates between. My eldest son Karl Anton was over it after many years in hat but he bought a new one this weekend. Similar to the classic gangster hat but with a narrower brim & lower top. It’s a black & grey felt hat with a plaid lining. The youngest, Axel, is more fond of Russian hats, noble hats & those that are knitted with ears & other similar variations. What about me then, well, I use hats also, in the same colour scale as always…beige, brown, black. But the thing I use most on my head is my black helmet, when I’m out on my Vespa … because it’s far better with a helmet than being without a head.

Manly men / 50

Hej friends,

I’m thinking of men! while it’s a bit cloudy outside although the sun has begun to shine through. So why men – well, I got huge response on one of the post I made a while ago. It’s raining men. I’m happy that that went down well but I’m not going to blog purely about men, sorry. I’ve gone halfway & chosen to keep it within my interests, so todays post it’s about … interior men might like or appreciate. I have to generalise a bit – to not be perceived as prejudiced, it’s a balancing act. It’s like believing that all women like pink, which of course isn’t true at all. Let’s take a look & I can only hope that my male readers will take it in the right way.

Here you go then, dear manly men:)
