Stacked / 203

Books, books, books – something I never can get enough of. Whether it’s book club, book store, my own books or any library anywhere. Yes, even my friends’ books. If I was locked in a room with books & got some food now & then, I would not think very much of it, believe me. I always carry back a filled suitcase with books when I have been back in Sweden for a visit. It’s inevitable, I just can’t resist it. Books creates a home, brings life & soul to the rooms & areas. Actually even color & motion. From filling the bookshelves to baskets & open cabinets as well as different surfaces to high stacks of books.

You know, even though I’m a book fan for the sake of the stories, the characters, the knowledge they bring & the joy of disappearing into another world & forget the outside world… I’ll have to admit that I also use my beloved books to create seasonal change at home. Believe it or not, I do. I pluck about in the shelves, organising sizes & colors, even lays out books with beautiful book covers in seasons – Christmas or summer or whatever suits at the moment. The same with table & other surfaces around the house where one can easily sit down, take it easy & browse randomly. It’s soooo nice :)

Hej friends,

It’s time again for book club meeting & it feels like yesterday that we met in our little nice group. Time is passing so quickly that it’s almost scary. Was it not recently that we celebrated Christmas & New Year…hey, can anyone stop the time, please.

The older I get, the more important it becomes to keep myself busy with things which makes me happy & that are meaningful. To live in the moment, really. Otherwise there’s a risk using too much time waiting & longing for the weekend, that I might miss out of that which is life…the everyday events. It may be that cup of coffee in the morning before everyone else is awake. No matter when or what, it’s about precious time for thoughts, reflections & insights. Those simple moments that we didn’t take time for. It’s seldom that we ask for material objects in tough conditions. This may sound simple & perhaps silly, but alas so hard to live by. I am still practicing after years of insight. Being present is easier said than done …

Like now for instance, I’m longing to tomorrow when I will meet my friends in the bookclub. Not wise, given that the others have prepared the coffee tray & will soon start tonight’s movie in the living room. Fortunately, one learns as long as one lives, right ?  I’ll give it a try tomorrow again:)

Shelf confidence / 62

Hej friends,

Shelves are my best friends. I need to have some kind of shelves in each room. Usually window shelves also for flower pots, lanterns, window lighting etc. A room becomes more interesting,   it provides character to the interior & to the atmosphere. It also strengthens the identity that one might aspire. In addition, it provides a reason to buy beautiful things & create small still life arrangements to embellish the home. I like to have small things around me which I find beautiful for various reasons. Occasionally I alter by simple means & can then get a new look without any major cost or greater effort. I am just very fond of decorative things. Anything from vases, frames, candles & simple ornaments. Yes, even books, especially as I’m a big book lover. The stuff on the shelves must be important & have a meaning, otherwise I would not want them.

So guys, what do you have on your shelfs, huh…

Book lover / 15

Hej friend,

I’ve been involved in a book club for nearly four years, I left for a short time but now I’m back again. It’s a great bunch of ladies with lots of energy, different personalities & who fits very well together. We meet at my place this time & quite frankly, most of the time we’re using to close anything other than the book in question. But we do manage to squeeze in some comments & opinions on the book. I’m rather fascinated by group constellations, those tend to have all the characteristics which summarizes us  humans – unplanned & unconsciously. It’s a positive thing that to think different &  act different, it paves the way for dynamic exchange & develop the mind. I believe this leaves room to grow & to gain understanding & insight for differences when one dare to expose oneself to situations where people think different. It is an essential part of all relations.

Anyway, I am delighted to be back.  Those friends are charming & fun in many ways. Some are thinkers & like to reflect, some analysis, someone uses humor while others are spontaneous & so on. Clearly, both exciting & fun. Today’s post is to my great bokklubs friends & to any book clubs out there. Simply to all book lovers.
