Tilers

We had a firm here whose working with old english tiles, the other day – what an interesting job they seem to have. Not only the diverse range they offer but all the different jobs they get & the old beautiful heritage houses they work on, both external as internal. Now, this wasn’t a job in our house but our neighbours. They are planning to redo their aisle from the entrance, down to the back…an aisle on the left side of the house. I was on my way to work when I saw the cute little bus parked, with old english tiles printed on the side.

You just can’t miss the opportunity to talk with these craftsmen about their job. AND are they passionate, or what! I wouldn’t mind working in this field. Such a historic richness they are carrying around, when using their skills in the same old way it was done back then. The reasoning behind, tools they are using & the different parts they work through, step by step. It’s about quality in every detail. And a job done for a lifetime. I would not mind starting as an apprentice, in old age. A tiler, yep!
