Darker wood / 204

Hej, hello, good day,

I’m very much into furnitures right now, we’ve been discussing that topic for a while, visited a few furniture stores & browsed through books & magasines, to get an idea of what we could imagine adding to the furniture we already have. It always ends with that I want to keep the furniture we have & my dear husband prefer to change to new ones. There are so many memories involved in every piece of furniture & they have been a part us for quite a while. There’s no worn or broken things so there’s no reason to just get rid of it. Each piece of furniture carries a memory, has a history & are linked to us & our boys, in one or another way. To get rid of them is like starting all over again but with new relationships. I like the old ones we have, that has been there through thick & thin. They are in birch & white, which has always been my choice of material & colour. But now I have for some reasons, started to look at darker wood.

I think I’m influenced by the time when the house was built & the architecture that was applicable then. A little more robust, strict & elegant style but in a homely / cozy way…if you get what I mean. Well, it’s not easy, is it? It’s easy to be caught by the impulse or the feeling of change. But after all, you have a style that you prefer & you tend to always fall back on to that . If you take the step to change, you should be relatively sure of what you do. It’s a big investment to make. Above all it is important to feel comfortable in the home … & it can only be with things you love & have a relationship or connection to. I will most likely remain in my old & comfortable style that I  prefer. It’s probably for the best.
