It’s been a while since I did something about food & when I do, it’s often about desserts. I prefer desserts, not just because of the sweetness which is nice enough but also because they look so tempting & appealing visually too. I’m not very good at cooking. I do try & from time to time I manage to get it right, although I wouldn’t be able to repeat it since I mix too much of different things. My dear son often says that I don’t need to empty cupboards, drawers, fridge & freezer just for a single dish - which is true by all means but I prefer to see it as creativity.
We are more of sandwich people in our family. Filling sandwiches are among the best there is. Bread, preferably freshly baked as well as healthy. Same with toppings – various cheeses, Italian ham, salami, avocado, olives, tomatoes … fresh fruit to that & so on. Finger food overall is very nice & not too pretentious. It’s easy to fix & as easy to vary. Each one can get anything they like & can participate on equal terms. So no sweets this time but there will be a kitchen theme with finger food & sandwiches … in all simplicity.
