Gallery for me / 25

Hej friends, so we are finally on a short vacation together – in Cairns. It’s a beautiful view from the hotel with the harbour in reach & the mountains as a background. We have rented a car & are just about to go to Palm cove, a small town along the sea.

I have had images on my mind lately, I just slipped in to a gallery at the hotel’s shopping street & saw some nice stuff. It got me thinking of pictures & frames. There are so many ways to create something unique, cute, stylidh or whatever might be thing for you. Worn frames or modern ones, with or without motive…it doesn’t matter really. There are some simple rules that are good to start with to get a kind of a whole or some structure … but does not have to be a must. No one can really tell you what to do or how to do  it, as long as you are happy with the result. You’re doing this for your self, aren’t you:) Posters & postcards are common if you don’t prefer authentic art, which I’m not covering really. Photos or whatever works. Form my experience, the most common things here in Sydney are wedding photos, family photos & diploma. What seems to be very popular here & has been for a while, is a lot of thin sheet metal images, old  signs & letters. I guess vintage is appealing with it’s simplicity & worn beauty.

Black floor, few well chosen furniture & concentration on the wall. I have just one word – wow! / Karl Andersson,

An entire wall covered with black frames & black/white photos. An impressive result / Greige interior design,

Stick to a small part of the wall & work with rows in height. This wall has been worked consistently with similar colours & only white frames.

Low storage unit works well together with these frames who are leaning against the wall / Vosges Paris,

Small collage on the wall, striking in it’s simplicity / Hus & hem,

This gallery wall enhances the environment in the room with it’s modernity / Bolaget,
Why not use the corner, very strong impact with the armchair in leather. (nice side table:)

I love the straight lines with black on white, it’s always striking … in my world / Greige interior design,

These are some basic rules that can be good to keep in mind.I

Take care / Marie
